I wasn't in class

Today in class we went over another powerpoint to prepare for our test this Friday.

I wasn't in class today because I was sick

Today in class we talked about the exam and what we will be doing the next two weeks. After that, we took notes out of the text book and answer questions. Then we looked at the powerpoint and took notes.

Today in class we went over the test that I failed almost the whole class then we read and did questions out of the textbook. Since we only have 2 1/2 weeks left, I'm going to find all the test from this year so I can begin to study for the final exam.

In class today we took the test on Rome. Even though I looked over all my notes last night and did a quizlet the whole mod before the test, I know that I definitely failed the test so my grade is going to be really bad now.

Today in class we took more notes on Rome. I think I'm going to fail so I'm spending all night studying because I desperately need a good grade on the test so my grade goes up.

Today in class we had a second review day for our test that was supposed to be tomorrow. Due to the fact that we still have eight slides left to look at and talk about, we will be reviewing again tomorrow and our test will now be moved to Wednesday. Our test is 50 questions and all multiple choice.

Mr. Schick is back!! Today in class we reviewed the rap powerpoint to prepare for our test next Tuesday. We will have another review and continue going over the powerpoint on Monday.

Day 8 Read 178-183 and answer questions 1 & 5 1. Define Greco-Roman Culture- The mixing of elements of Greek, Hellenistic, and roman culture to produce this new culture. Pompeii- A town that got covered in thick ash after Vesuvius erupted. Virgil- A poet who spent ten years writing the Aeneid. Tacitus- Roman historian who presented accurate facts. Aqueduct- Bring water into cities and towns. 5. What influence did latin have on the development of western languages? Latin was developed into many different languages. In English, we have many words that come from latin. 

Day 7 Discuss this topic: The United States is declining, like the Roman Empire did. You may agree or disagree, but give a solid reason. I believe that in some ways the Unites States is declining, like the Roman Empire but in other ways the United States is doing well. I think that for the United States, our education and military is doing well, but our health and government is declining. The United States has many public schools which makes it easy for everyone to get a basic education. I think that having knowledgeable people is something that is needed to keep our government from  declining. With out education, we might have made the same mistakes as the Romans did back then. Our health is a big concern that could cause the U.S. over all to decline. Health is important to keep everyone doing well. Day 6 Read pages 173-176 and answer questions 1,3, 4, and 5 1. DEFINE Inflation- A raise in price due to the fact that the value of money has dropped. Mercenary- A foreign soldier that is working for money/payment. Diocletian- A strong army leader who is also an emperor. Constantinople- Capitol of Rome. Attila- Threat to the empire. 3. What were the main internal causes of the empires decline? Economical decline Inflation Population size 4. How did Diocletian  succeed in preserving the empire? Limiting personal freedom Split the empire into two sections 5. Why did so many Germanic tribes begin invading The Roman  Empire? They were trying to flee and escape from Attila and crossed into The ROman empire.

Day 5 Read page 168-172 and answer questions 1, 3, 4, and 5. 1. Define Jesus- A jew born in the town of Bethlehem and raised in Nazareth. Apostle- 12 men that tried to spread Jesus' teachings.  Paul- One of the Apostles that  had a big influence on Christianity's development. Diaspora- The dispersal of the Jews. Constantine- A roman emperor who fought three rivals for leadership of Rome. Bishop- A priest who supervised local churches.
